From the beach, you can view the granite slabs that surround the entrance to the bay. A short walk will take you to one of the best shopping centers in Rio, as well as to many theatres, fashion and jewelry shops, and restaurants, cafes, juice bars and nightclubs. Also the necessities like grocery stores, pharmacies and banks/ATM's.
My neighborhood is considered one of the safest and most vibrant ones in Rio. And also one of the most convenient -- just 2 blocks from the beach near the world-famous Copacabana Palace Hotel, and 1 block from the modern Metro which will whisk you quickly and safely to the many interesting parts of the city.
