Summary: The location of this hotel couldn’t be any better. Literally steps away from the cathedral. The price was great. The room was a bit small, but I didn’t spend a whole lot of time in the room. It was a bit confusing that you check into Hotel Villar around the block to check in. It was also a bummer after walking for 1 month of the trail and my legs like jello, that I found out my room was on the 3rd floor with no elevator. Bummer! Aside from that it was great and I definitely stay there again…even in a 3rd floor walk up. The last day I was able to store my luggage and get almost a full day of touring before leaving town. Wonderful staff

Summary: You could not get a better location. 2mins from cathedral, 5mins to market, surrounded by lovely cafes and restaurants but quiet road in comparison with nearby more tourist roads. Room was serviced every day and spotless! Looks newly renewed interior, bathroom etc and very comfortable. Room was compact but had everything I needed for my 5 night stay. Bathroom had plenty of space and all very well thought out. Be mindful on arrival that 1) if you catch the 1Euro bus from airport its a 20 minute uphill walk from the station bus stop. Its fine, but be ready 2) check in is at the sister hotel round the corner, so head for that 1st. The staff are really friendly and helpful -thank you Sandra! Checkout is at 12 and you can leave bags there. 3) the pension is on 3 floors with no lift. It's fine and I just took it slow getting the 20KG bag up and down. I would return to this accomodation every time!

Summary: Clean, modern and lovely little rooms right in the heart of the city. Friendly and helpful welcome at the nearby hotel.
There was a strange noise in the corridor at night (it sounded like something electronic) and unfortunately the heating control panel developed a fault and flashed with a green light all night….I really couldn’t work out how to reset it….so I didn’t sleep very well, but I’m guessing that’s not a normal occurrence.

Summary: Accessing the Pension is done through another location which is staffed. Our room was in a great location within old town Santiago de Compostela and very near the Cathedral. The room is very bare bones but clean with a good bed. We would have been perfectly happy with the room but for two things. There is a lot of noise well into early morning from passing drunks come from nearby bars. Also, my hearing aid charger was fried by a surge in the plug that I was using (you could visibly see the spark). This happened the night before we were scheduled to leave. I didn't recognize the problem with the charger until we were about to check out and leave Santiago. I emailed the Pension but I haven't heard from them.

Summary: Stayed here upon arriving from the Camino. Be aware the that the Pension is an annex to the Hotel Rua Villar on a nearby street where you need to check in. There's a notice on the door of the Pension, but better to know beforehand to avoid confusion.
Literally 3 short blocks to the Cathedral square with lots of retail and dining options nearby.
Property is very clean and contemporary, although there are only 3 rooms per floor and no elevator. Yes, a walk-up for those of you who care.
We were on the 3rd floor (4th for those of us in the US) which, after a Camino made the climb was a surprise, but one we were now ready for.
